Quick Start

Getting started quickly is important to long term success. Below are some of our resources to help you get focused and started on your path to success.

The Personal Income Plan (PIP)

The critical first step as a new agent with Velomon is to set a standard for achievement and learn what activity it will take to reach that goal. We do this using a tool called the Personal Income Plan (PIP). Click here to create your own PIP.

With your PIP completed, you should now know several important things:

First, you have a road map that tells you exactly what needs to happen in order to generate the income you desire. You can see how many cases you must sell on an annual basis which is also broken down per month. In addition, you know how many presentations you’ll need to make in order to achieve that goal. And finally, you’ll see how many ‘sales conversations’ you need to engage in order to set up those presentations.

Make these numbers a part of your daily schedule. Know how many calls you need to make and how many appointments you need to set. Track your success and adjust your numbers as necessary. It will be difficult and frustrating at first, but as you start achieving success, this will give you the motivation to achieve beyond your wildest imagination.

Secondly, the PIP has identified a target audience for you – and with it – a typical case size. You’ve picked this audience, hopefully because you have easy access to them and can relate easily with them. If not, consider adjusting your target. Even if you have to move backwards to a lower case size, it is more fun to find success with people you like than struggle with people you don’t easily attract.

Finally, the PIP has identified a marketing budget for you. Again, you set this number, but realize this money is there in addition to your salary so plan to use it. The more you spend on successful marketing the better your sales results will be. The good news is that you can successfully sell our systems with little or no marketing expense, but as you grow, consider investing a little to increase your output.

The 10 x 10 Plan

We call our basic sales process the 10 x 10 plan. The name has a simple origin: The first 10 represents your effort to make 10 calls a day to new prospects and ask them to watch a short video from our marketing archives. It is that simple, no long pitch, no request for an appointment. Simply ask if they would watch a video if you sent it to them. If they say yes, confirm their email and send the video. If they say no or don’t answer, thank them and move on. The second 10 represents 10 follow up calls to the people you called 3 couple days ago. In the meantime, our marketing video system will alert you if one of your prospects would to talk with you immediately.

The List of 200

Every sales person needs to start somewhere and the easiest place to start is with people you know. Build your list of 200 and begin your marketing efforts on ‘home turf’. We will show you ways to expand your efforts, but the List of 200 will get you running quickly and finding success. Once you’ve created your PIP and built your list of 200, you can begin your 10 x 10 activity immediately.

With a good effort on your part, you should be able to turn your list of 200 into 20 to 25 appointments and from there several pieces of business. And if you work your 10 x 10 plan, this will all happen in the first 30 days!
